Sand Therapy Journeys is a 6 month personal/professional development programme for therapists and counsellors.

About Sand Therapy Journeys
Eligibility
The Sand Therapy Journeys programme is open to qualified therapists and counsellors of any modality.
The only requirement is that you are a member of a professional organisation and are insured to practise. This is because as part of experiential work with sand you will hold space for others and witness their sandtrays in Zoom breakout rooms, and it is important that you have the basic skills, self-awareness and aptitude to do so.
You do not need to have previous experience of Sandplay/Sandtray therapy as you will have access to the free introductory course, which covers the basics, sufficient for you to learn and benefit from the Sand Therapy Journeys programme.
Is this a qualification?
No, it is a unique personal and professional development programme, not affiliated with any institution. There will be plenty of learning, you will gain insights and experience through exploring your own sand trays and supporting the work of others, and via presentations on specialist topics.
You will receive a Continuous Professional Development certificate at the end of the programme if you attend at least 50% of the live workshops (7 out of 14) and commit to watch the ones you have missed.
Times & dates
The live Zoom sessions will take place on Tuesdays, 12noon to 2.30pm London time (if you are based outside of the UK, please check your time zone), starting 13th October 2026 and finishing 27th April 2027, mostly at fortnightly intervals (apart from a 3 week break over Christmas and over Easter)

6. Emotions, Goals & Hopes in the Sand - 22nd December 2026

9. Dreamwork in the Sand - 9th February 2027
10. Colour in the Sand - 23rd February 2027
11. Addictions & Compulsions in the Sand - 9th March 2027
Easter Break
12. Light & Darkness in the Sand - 30th March 2027
13. The Enneagram in the Sand - 13th April 2027
14. Personal Alchemy in the Sand / Ending & Celebration - 27th April 2027
Equipment
To take part in the Sand Therapy Journeys programme, you will need some basic equipment including the following:
- a Sandtray
- Sand
- A selection of symbols/miniatures.

Costs
The cost of the programme is £399, payable via a Stripe link HERE.
There is a reduced fee of £250 for counsellors/psychotherapists who are members of my Sand, Sound & Symbol Tribe; and only £100 for repeaters of the previous two intakes.
If you need to pay in instalments, you can pay £100 deposit HERE, and instructions for setting up the standing order for further 3 x £100 payments will be sent to you on acceptance onto the programme.
If you are based in a developing country with significantly lower incomes than Europe, US, Canada, Australia, Japan etc and cannot afford the full fee, please get in touch to discuss how we can make it manageable for you - email sandtherapyjourneys@gmail.com

'I wanted to share the impact of joining the course and following you. Experiencing the sand has been amazing for me and I am now fascinated by symbol collection. Even friends and family scour charity shops.
I have also been inspired to start writing again which was a childhood love. I joined a writing course. I also discovered Haiku.
I am also spending time playing with the creative activities which I use with children and having great fun!

I am a creative trauma psychotherapist specialising in Integrative Sandplay Therapy and I have been working with the magical medium of sand since 2005.
I am a Registered Sand Therapist & Consultant / Trainer with the World Association of Sand Therapy Professionals.
I teach face-to-face workshops in Integrative Sandplay Therapy and other Sand-related topics at my Sand & Sound Centre in Greater Manchester (also known as "the Aladdin's Cave" :) )
